2025 Jerald L. Ericksen Prize (Inaugural Award)

The 2025 Jerald L. Ericksen Prize (Inaugural Award) is awarded to Michael Ortiz, Frank and Ora Lee Marble Professor of Aeronautics and Mechanical Engineering, Emeritus, and colleagues for their paper on ‘Data Driven Problems in Elasticity', which influenced a new direction for applied mathematics. The Jerald L. Ericksen Prize was established in 2021 in memory of Jerald L. Ericksen, the prize is awarded every 5 years for the original formulation of a mathematical theory of a significant scientific or engineering problem in the fifteen years preceding the award date.
